What is nanotechnology?
Nano technology is the manipulation of matter on an atomic, molecular and supramolecular level to create new structures with new properties.
The main aim of nanotechnology is said to be a precise manipulation of atoms and molecules for fabrication of macroscale products for various purposes in scientific research and fields of medicine, biology, chemistry, physics, electronics and so on. National Nanotechnology Initiative defines nanotechnology as the manipulation of matter with at least one dimension sized from 1 to 100 nanometers. Even though the idea of nanotechnology was propagated in the fifties by Richard Feyman, it was taken on and blossomed only twenty years ago. Nanotech based products can be found today all around us as protection against stains, protection for glasses, medicine, electronics and computer world and so on.
Word ”Nano” stands for something very small, minimal, originating from Latin – nanus, Greek – nanos, both meaning ”dwarf”. In terms of units of measure, Nano (symbol n) is a unit prefix meaning one billionth part.
The importance of nanotechnology
It is evident that a lot of effort, time and financing is being invested to further development of nanotechnology on a global scale. Every four years the amount of money spent accross the world for nano tech research is doubled up, only proving that the most powerfull and renowned world institutions are investing in it. European Union likewise is part of this worldwide involvement in nanotech and is planning to take lead in this fast growing industry by encouragement of financing this industry and creating and developing new products in the field.
The potential of nanotechnology in everyday life is priceless. However in many cases the price of products based on nanotechnology is so high that it prevents the use of the industry to the full spectrum. Our aim and vision is to ensure this will not be the case with our products, but to have Nanotechnology available to all and everyone.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1. On what types of surfaces can I apply b-nano glass protection?
- b-nano glass protection can be applied and used ONLY on glass surfaces.
2. how much surface in m2 will one b-nano wipe cover?
- One b-nano wipe will cover a surface of 1.5m2 in case of a windscreen.
3. Is the b-nano glass protection wipe to be applied to windscreen only or can it be applied to all the other windows and mirrors?
- b-nano wipe is primarily designed for the windscreen but it can ofcourse be applied to all the other windows on the vehicle and mirrors as well, especially in winter time when temperatures are bellow zero and it will decrease the chances of freezing .
4. Can b-nano glass protection be applied to the inner side of the windscreen and other windows?
- Applying the b-nano to the inner side of the windscreen and other windows will not have any effect at all. It will not negatively or positively affect it. However we do recommend that our b-nano antifog wipe be used for the inner side of windows.
5. What are the steps to be taken regarding upkeep of surface treated, once b-nano glass protection is applied to windscreen?
- Once b-nano glass protection is applied to the windscreen no special care needs to be taken, wash windows as per usual, it is however recommended not to use any harsh and abresive cleaners.
6. Does b-nano glass protection contain silicone?
- b-nano glass protection does not contain any silicone, oils or paraffins.
7. What is best used to polish off the haze after application of b-nano wipe?
- For optimal results use b-nano polishing cloth.
8. What if the windscreen is damaged or old do I still apply the b-nano protection?
- If the windscreen is damaged, yes you can use the b-nano glass protection, it is however recommended to reapply the protection after two months for best results.
9. What to do if I forget to polish off the protection after the 20 min?
- If you forget to polish off the protection it is recommended to get another wipe and reapply it to the windscreen again and then polish off after the 20 min. So repeat the process.
10. What if the windscreen gets wet within the first 5 hours of application of the b-nano wipe?
- If the windscreen gets wet within 5 hours from application the effect of the protection is
compromised and it is recommended the process be repeated with a new wipe.
